1) Well, it was 8 o’clock in the morning, I stood at Duisburg Central Station
then the train was going to take me far away
then the train was going to take me far away to this fucking army, yey

But I don’t want to fight for the army, no, no
yeah, but I will fight against the army
to keep on living, to keep my freedom
to keep my soul, to keep my mind

2) And it was the Flensburg Army Camp General, to say at 10 o’clock in the evening:
I’m so sorry, boys, but we’ve made a mistake
I’m so sorry, boys, but tomorrow in the morning we will send you to another army camp

But I don’t want to fight…

3) And it was 5 o’clock in the morning, we had to wake up to have some breakfast
and there were three buses full of people to go to Putlos Army Camp
and there were three buses full of people to go from Putlos Army Camp to Flensburg Army Camp

But I don’t want to fight…

4) And it was 10 o’clock in the morning, I said: Hello, Mr. Soldier
I’m so ill that I can’t do this work
I’m so ill that I can’t do this work, please, send me to the doctor now

‚Cause I dont want to fight…

5) And it was 12 o’clock, high noon, I said: Hello, Mr. Doctor
some time ago I took same LSD
some time ago I took some LSD and now I’ve got a flash-back all the time and I don’t know what’s going on around me

‚Cause I don’t want to fight…

6) Well, now, two weeks later in Putlos Army Hospital
I have a good time and I play guitar
I have a good time and I play guitar, in the afternoon I’m going to leave the army, yeah, yeah

I wasn’t going to fight for the army, no, no
but I was going to fight against the army
to keep on living, to keep my freedom
to keep my soul, to keep my kind mind
