1) I woke up this afternoon, could hardly stand
so I crawled over to my mirror and said:
Good morning, Hollywood
I said: Good morning, old friend

2) The sun wasn’t shining, I found a dry tear in my eye
it was a little present from yesterday, telling me:
Good morning, Hollywood
another long day’s passed by

3) Then I looked for my trousers, I looked for my shoes
I looked for my money
I had nothing to lose but this good morning blues
so I ran on down to the telephone booth to call my baby
I ran on down to the telephone booth to call my love
and it takes a fucking long number, ′cause she’s so far away
and it takes more than four months
till she’s coming back home to stay
and I said: Good morning, baby, I love you so
I said: Good morning, darling, I miss you mo’ than I can show
and I said: Good morning, Thekla, I need you so
I said: Good morning, little tiger
fight with me, give me your rock ‘n’ roll

4) Back home in my lonely head, I’m thinking of all the time
that I’ve got to wait, that I’ve got to spend
till I feel her body next to mine again
till I feel her body next to mine

5) How I’d love to wake up in the morning, lying by her side
how I’d love to kiss her and hear her whisper:
Good morning, Hollywood, I love you all day and all night
Good morning, darling, I love you, I need you, I want you, alright
