At Down Street Palace Café

There’s a place I like to go
when night comes floating slow
and I won’t stay in my daytime home

I take a sunset walk ending downtown
tryin’ to lose my blues somewhere around
at Down Street Palace Café

And the woman ′hind the bar is a friend of mine
she knows all my favourite drinks
she knows a lot of my favourite smiles
and in time she’ll know me better than I thought
someone would ever know me at all
